March 20, 2009 Belle Rose Stock and Superstock Eliminator Qualifying

Got Cadillac? After 3 rounds of qualifying in Stock Eliminator today (pending tech) the 1977 Seville of Robert Shaw nails the #1 spot down by a bunch! The U/SA went 13.664 on the 15.15 index to post the number one spot going under by -1.486. Shaw also went on to defeat Ron Ortiz in the U/SA Class final with a 13.790 to Ortiz's losing 14.761. Number 2 qualifier Doug Patrick took his M/SA Cutlass to a -1.221 pass on his 13.15 index. To get into the top ten qualifiers in Stock took a pass of -1.150 under the index.

March 1, 2009-Pacific Division NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series race number one at Firebird International Raceway has been completed.

Brian McClanahan defeats Jim Meador in the final round of stock eliminator. Both drivers were a little late on the tree with reaction times of .082 and .085. It was all Brian at the stripe running a 10.167 on a 10.15 while Jim goes through with a 10.903 on a 10.85 dial.

The Super Stock final featured Emmett Mikolajczyk drilling an .016 light to Byron Setters "Hey it's green" .163. That's all Emmett needed to seal the win on the other end. Mikolajczyk runs a 9.620 on a 9.52, and Setters runs a 9.509 on his 9.47 dial.

Other winners included Sean O'Bannon in Top Alcohol Funny Car, Shawn Cowie in Top Alcohol Dragster, Ray Martin in Top Sportsman, Tom Mettler in Competition Eliminator, J.R. Lobner in Top Dragster, Thomas Bayer in Super Comp, Scott Rollins in Super Gas, Tim Landis in Super Street and Bill Burkhart in Sportsman Motorcycle.
